CHAD’S STORY
I moved out to northern Utah, southern Wyoming area many years ago. Im an RN and I got a job in orthopedic trauma surgery at Park City Hospital. I was living the life. I had a corral full of horses and was playing the rancher everyday after work and on my days off. All winter I would snowboard nonstop. I had been living the dream. When I was a kid I ran around in a Lone Ranger outfit a lot of the time.
One day I started to feel rough. I was soon diagnosed with kidney failure and told I had to start dialysis immediately. That was a nightmare. That was September 2021. Seven months later I moved back to my home state, to my hometown. I needed to be around family and support.
I’ve been on dialysis for two years. I have actively been pursuing a kidney transplant since day one. It can take a long time. I have a donor for whom I am grateful and things are moving forward.
UPDATE: Chad received a kidney transplant in June of 2023 and recovery is going well so far for both him and his donor.
